Cookie Policy

Last updated: March 1, 2025 — Rapidata, Inc.

This Cookie Policy explains how Rapidata, Inc. ("Rapidata," "we," "our," or "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our website at rapideta.us or use our data analytics platform (collectively, the "Service"). This policy explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control their use.

By using our website or platform, you consent to the use of cookies in accordance with this Cookie Policy, except for non-essential cookies which require your explicit consent as described below. You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the controls described in Section 5.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide website operators with information about how their site is being used.

Cookies are set by either the website you are visiting ("first-party cookies") or by third-party services operating on that website ("third-party cookies"). Cookies can be "session cookies" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (which remain on your device until they expire or you delete them).

In addition to cookies, we also use similar technologies including:

  • Web beacons (pixel tags): Small transparent image files embedded in web pages or emails that allow us to detect when a page or email has been opened and to track certain user activities
  • Local storage: Browser-based storage mechanisms (including localStorage and sessionStorage) that allow us to store data on your device without using cookies; note that Rapidata uses localStorage rather than document.cookie for storing user preferences on our website
  • JavaScript tags: Small code snippets embedded in web pages that enable the collection of data about your interactions with our website

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

We use the following categories of cookies on our website and platform:

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the operation of our website and platform and cannot be switched off. They are typically set in response to actions you take such as logging in, setting preferences, or filling in forms. Without these cookies, the services you have requested cannot be provided.

2.3 Performance and Analytics Cookies

We use Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled, which means that IP addresses are truncated before storage, ensuring that individual users cannot be identified from analytics data alone. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

2.4 Marketing and Targeting Cookies

These cookies are used to deliver relevant advertising and to track the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. They may be set by us or by advertising partners. If you do not allow these cookies, you may see less relevant advertising.

3. Third-Party Cookies and Services

Our website integrates third-party services that may set their own cookies on your device. These third-party cookies are subject to the privacy and cookie policies of the respective third parties, not this Cookie Policy. The third-party services we currently use include:

  • Google Analytics — web analytics service. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
  • Google Ads — advertising and remarketing. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
  • HubSpot — customer relationship management and marketing automation. Privacy policy: legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy
  • Intercom — customer support and chat. Privacy policy: intercom.com/legal/privacy
  • Cloudflare — content delivery network and security. Privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy

We periodically review our third-party service providers and this list may be updated. We recommend checking the relevant third-party privacy policies for the most current information.

4. Cookies in Our Platform

Within the authenticated Rapidata platform (requiring login), we use session cookies and browser localStorage exclusively for authentication, security, and user preference management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies within the authenticated platform environment.

The platform's use of localStorage for storing user preferences means that your settings persist across browser sessions without the need for server-side cookies, and that this data is stored locally on your device rather than transmitted to Rapidata's servers on every page load.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

5.1 Our Cookie Consent Tool

When you first visit our website, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage with the key "cookieConsent." You can change your preferences at any time by contacting us at privacy@rapideta.us.

5.2 Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically find these settings in the "Options," "Preferences," or "Settings" menu of your browser. The following links provide instructions for managing cookies in major browsers:

  • Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
  • Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cookies-information-websites-store-on-your-computer
  • Apple Safari: support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-and-website-data-sfri11471
  • Microsoft Edge: support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/delete-cookies-in-microsoft-edge

Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our website and your ability to use some features of the Service.

5.3 Do Not Track

Some browsers support a "Do Not Track" feature that signals to websites that you do not want to be tracked. Currently, there is no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to "Do Not Track" signals. We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals but will update this policy if industry standards develop.

5.4 Opting Out of Analytics

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. This prevents Google Analytics from collecting information about your website visits.

6. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes in applicable law, or changes in our data practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy and, where required by law, obtain renewed consent for any new or changed cookie categories.

We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.
