Rapidata was founded in 2023 by a team of engineers who had spent years inside some of the world's largest data platforms — building the infrastructure that powers real-time decisions at scale. Despite working with cutting-edge tools, we kept running into the same fundamental problem: the gap between when data is created and when it becomes actionable is measured in hours, not milliseconds.
Legacy ETL tools were designed for a world of nightly batch jobs. Modern streaming frameworks like Kafka and Flink are powerful, but require deep operational expertise to deploy reliably at scale. Most enterprises were caught in the middle — investing heavily in data infrastructure but still running on stale data when it mattered most.
We founded Rapidata to close that gap. By combining the power of open-source streaming technology with a managed platform that handles the operational complexity, we make real-time analytics accessible to every engineering and data team — regardless of infrastructure expertise.

We focus exclusively on the real-time and near-real-time data processing space for enterprise customers. Our platform targets companies with data volumes exceeding 100 million events per day, particularly in financial services, e-commerce, SaaS, and healthcare sectors where stale data carries measurable business risk.

IA Ventures is a New York-based venture capital firm specializing in data-driven technology companies. They have a strong track record investing in companies that apply data science and machine learning to transform traditional industries, with a portfolio including several market-leading data infrastructure and analytics companies.
Use of Funds
The $2.8M Seed Round will be deployed across three primary areas:
- Engineering team expansion (60%): Hiring senior distributed systems engineers, data platform architects, and reliability engineers to accelerate core platform development.
- Go-to-market (25%): Building the sales engineering and customer success functions to support our growing enterprise customer base.
- Infrastructure & security (15%): Obtaining SOC 2 Type II certification and expanding our managed cloud infrastructure to support multi-region deployments.
